PetSafe Wireless Pet Containment System PIF 300

PetSafe Wireless Pet Containment System, PIF-300
The PetSafe Wireless Fence pet containment system is a revolutionary concept that provides the safest, simplest form of pet containment ever. Plug in the transmitter somewhere inconspicuous in your home. The transmitter emits a 17.5 kHz radio signal around your home. Your pet wears a lightweight receiver collar that "listens" for the signal. While the collar is receiving the signal, your dog is free to run and play in your yard. When he approaches the boundary of the signal area, he receives a warning beep. If your dog does not return, he receives a static correction which is startling but not harmful. With a little simple training, your dog will quickly learn his boundaries. The training of your pet is a key element with the PetSafe Wireless Fence. Follow the easy instruction and training manual that is included. For use in the US only. This unit is compatible with all US 110v outlets and are not to be used with 220v international voltage.

- The first transmitter I received was DOA. Would not power up. It was replaced right away. Once the transmitter came in the collar's beep was so low you had to put your ear to it to hear. This was also replaced right away. The second one was better.

The dog has reacted well to the training as called out in the instructions. This is my 3rd week and I think this is going to work well

Although there was some significant quality problems in the beginning, the company reacted well and replaced the items quickly.

- Iv'e had this sytem for a little over a year and it's the best thing I bought. My Jackrussell & beagle...both pups at the time picked up on it in a couple days. I hated the cole times they were shocked however now they go out, play, run and know there exact boundary's. Excellet fence. Only thing I recommend is buying etra batteries and checking them once a week. The battery will beep to tell you its low however if your not home when it beeps you have no way of knowing. The batteries last roughly two months. It stinks to see them get zapped however its better then getting killed. Highly recommend this fence. Easy easy training...they go to far and then a beep and zap if they keep going. They learn very quickly to pull a u turn when they hear the beep. The first time their shocked you will have to coach them to go outside and that its ok just when they hear the beep, stop and turnaround. I keep my jack on level 3 correction and my beagle on level 2.

- We bought this system about 4 months ago and it's worth twice what we paid. It was extremely easy to train our two 50 lb+ dogs to use the system. Our dogs rarely test the system limits, even when neighbors walk their dogs past our home, which amazed me considering the extremely high chase instict of one of our dogs. When either of the dog's collars begin to beep, both dogs come running back toward the house.

The dogs can run around the yard and play and don't have to be chained up or left in the house while we're outside working. They look forward to getting their collars on so that they can go out and play. We can even let them stay outside on their own and play while we get ready for work in the morning.

We're extremely happy with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone with dogs and a decent sized yard where they can play!
