- The big plus for this kit is that it can be used with saliva as well as serum or blood. The instructions are well done and one would have to make an effort to make a mistake; I tried. Just read slowly and carefully. In addition to the kit you will need distilled water or saline solution as a rinse agent. This isn't mentioned but required. Also the kit has components for 25 tests so you should have a lot of kitties or a bunch of friends who do. The cost per test is very reasonable but be aware that the components are time dated and must be used within the viability window. Buy this by phone and ask what the expiration date is. It took us a little over a year to use our kit and we finished at the expiration date. We used ours as a backup to a SNAP FelV/FIV test. As mentioned elsewhere this is a FelV test only. If you are doing multiple tests (it saves a lot of time) you will need a fine tip marking pen for the test sticks. The test takes about 16 min. for the saliva version with most of that devoted to waiting.

- I think my title says it all ;-) Very easy test to do. Beats the heck out of dragging kitties off to the vet, spending much more money and having to sit around and wait for results. I only wish they had a test which included FIV.
