CatGenie 120 Self Washing Self Flushing Cat Box

CatGenie 120 Self-Washing Self-Flushing Cat Box
Never touch, smell, or buy cat litter again. The CatGenie 120 not only flushes waste away, but also washes itself clean. It has been tested, used, and recommended by veterinarians nationwide. Plus, it’s , using the biodegradable, recyclable SaniSolution cartridge for cleansing. Just hook up the CatGenie 120 to a cold water outlet, and plug in the electrical cord. Litter-like Washable Granules line the bottom of the box. When your kitty goes, the liquid drains away from the Granules, so only the waste gets flushed. The GenieHand then scoops out the solid waste, which is turned to liquid for safe, easy removal. Fresh water fills the basin, and the GenieHand scrubs and scours the box and Granules. The cat-safe SaniSolution decontaminates everything, while the waste and sudsy water are flushed or drained away. A hot-air blower completely dries the Granules and box. The Granules are permanent and never need to be changed. Train your cat to start the cleaning process, or set an automatic timer. Each SaniSolution cartridge holds at least 120 washes. 90 day money-back guarantee, 2 year warranty.

- My cats and I love the CatGenie. I have owned several electric litter boxes and this one is the one works, plus my calico cannot out-smart the litter box.

LitterMaid: I really tired of having to spray the rake with cooking oil and changing the plastic boxes. Mocha finally figured out if she put all the litter up against the rake, she could stop the rake. It also broke the LitterMaid.

Litter-Robot: It was inconvenient for me to drive 10 miles to a car wash to clean, rinse and wax the "hood" piece on a monthly basis. Maykada was afraid of the Litter-Robot and would pee between the lip and liner. I had to operate it manually evening and morning due to her fear. No car wash sprayer completely washes under the rubber on the round litter box section. Mocha figured out she could pile all the litter to one side and make the litter box dump everything into the floor. I ended up buying a water heater pan to try to catch the dirty litter. It never worked entirely and the odor was a bit much. Plus litter dust gets old! (Note: the company did send me an entire new unit under warranty which should have solved the rubber meeting the plastic problem, but Makayda simply peed down the outside of the box. This company has outstanding customer service and if your cats will work with the box, I would not rule it out as an option.)

I was able to set up this litter box almost entirely by myself. I did have someone do the plumbing connection since I have an older house and the toilet connection needed redone. Do purchase the dome, which comes with side walls. My cats tend to scatter the litter (gravel) out. It's cheaper to get both the side walls and dome together than to purchase side walls separately. So whether you attach the dome for privacy is your choice.

I love the fact the gravel litter is reusable. Yes, you need some extra to replace what the cats track out. In addition to regularly adding litter and disposing of used clumps, carrying in 25-27 lb pails of clay litter gets old. I am so thankful to not have to worry about buying litter constantly. Plus, I no longer have to worry about the dog snacking on used clay. (It's a dog thing . . . yuck!)

I have a small house and love the fact on the cat setting, there is no odor problem. The unit is loud, so you will want to program in your sleep time unless you are a very sound sleeper.

- My cats absolutely loved it and when the product worked it was great. When the litter box was working, the only annoying part is the litter that gets all around the house as well as the occasional time that poop would get past the scooper and eventually get cooked by the dryer(wow did that smell bad) but if you spent a little time scooping out the little bits that get past the scooper you'll be ok.

Now for the reason for my 1 star rating; I had the unit for a short amount of time before it broke. For some odd reason the unit no longer wanted to flush and simply just flooded the box with poop/pee, and water. I took the unit apart to figure out what was wrong and as I took it apart I realized how cheap the unit was made. Everything was made of pastic where had they spent/charged a little more for the unit it would have been much more durable. I think anyone willing to spend $250+ for a litter box woulnd't mind spending an extra $5 replacing critical plastic parts with metal parts. The part that broke on me was a plastic sprocket that helped pump the waste through the unit to the toilet. Very disappointed because everyone loved it aside from the annoying granules and sometimes missed poop that would get cooked.

- I have two Cat Genie 120 units. I LOVE them. I did have a few problems with some errors, but the company sent out new processing units and now it's totally fine. They work great, no clogging, no problems with "baking poo" as others have complained about. I do have a cat who won't use them so I have a litter robot also and he uses that instead. Saves so much in litter!
